Lead a commercial roofing division’s strategy, financial performance, and talented teams at Nations Roof — shaping sustainable growth while upholding safety, quality, and customer trust.
Lead the business. Develop the team. Build lasting success.
Nations Roof is seeking an accomplished Commercial Roofing President to lead a division’s operations, financial performance, and continued growth. This is an opportunity for a proven commercial roofing executive who combines technical expertise with strong business judgment and the ability to build an accountable, high-performing leadership team.
As a leading national commercial roofing contractor, Nations Roof brings together local market knowledge, national resources, and a commitment to quality, integrity, and customer service.
Position Overview
The President has overall responsibility for the division’s business performance, including full profit and loss ownership, strategic planning, estimating, project management, production, service operations, and team development. This leader establishes business priorities, translates financial and operational data into action, and ensures projects deliver the safety, quality, profitability, and customer experience expected of Nations Roof.
Qualified candidates must have at least eight years of experience in a comparable leadership capacity with a commercial roofing contractor, including responsibility for business performance and managing managers.
What You’ll Do
Lead the division’s overall business strategy, daily operations, and financial performance, aligning growth plans with company objectives and local market opportunities.
Own the division’s profit and loss results, annual operating plan, budgets, forecasts, overhead management, and capital and staffing needs.
Translate financial statements, job cost reports, work-in-progress schedules, and operational metrics into decisions that improve margins, cash flow, productivity, and business performance.
Lead and develop Estimators, Project Managers, Superintendents, Operations Managers, Service Managers, and administrative leaders, establishing clear responsibilities and measurable expectations.
Direct commercial roofing estimating and bid strategy, evaluating takeoffs, labor production rates, material pricing, subcontractor costs, equipment requirements, project logistics, overhead, and margin targets.
Apply sound judgment to bid/no-bid decisions, customer selection, backlog mix, project capacity, and contract risk to support profitable, sustainable growth.
Provide technical oversight for commercial roofing projects involving TPO, PVC, EPDM, modified bitumen, built-up roofing, metal roofing, insulation systems, coatings, and associated sheet metal and waterproofing details.
Ensure proposed roofing assemblies address existing roof conditions, substrate suitability, attachment methods, drainage, flashing, penetrations, wind uplift requirements, manufacturer specifications, and applicable building codes.
Oversee project execution from estimating and contract turnover through procurement, mobilization, installation, billing, warranty documentation, and final closeout.
Review project budgets, schedules, committed costs, labor performance, cost-to-complete projections, and Estimated Cost at Completion (ECAC), directing corrective action when performance falls short.
Manage backlog and resource planning, aligning labor, supervision, subcontractors, equipment, and materials with project commitments and business capacity.
Maintain disciplined change order management, progress billing, collections, accounts receivable oversight, and resolution of outstanding project balances.
Review and negotiate contracts within established authority, addressing scope clarity, exclusions, payment terms, schedules, warranty obligations, and operational exposure.
Strengthen service, repair, and preventive maintenance operations to support recurring revenue, customer retention, and long-term reroofing opportunities.
Establish consistent quality control practices, including inspections, installation reviews, manufacturer coordination, punch lists, and timely resolution of workmanship or warranty concerns.
Champion safety through visible leadership, field engagement, management accountability, and compliance with company, OSHA, and customer requirements.
Build relationships with commercial property owners, facility leaders, property managers, consultants, general contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Partner with sales leadership to expand market share, develop key accounts, improve win rates, and maintain a healthy pipeline of profitable work.
Recruit, coach, and retain strong leaders; address performance issues promptly; and develop succession plans that support the division’s continued growth.
Collaborate with executive leadership and corporate support teams to improve processes, strengthen controls, and communicate business results, risks, and opportunities.
